Evaluation

I was briefed to make and design an innotive container which did not resemble a box. My container matches the brief as it was very innotive, maybe too innotive. I feel my box was a little bit to complicated from the start.
I had masses of Lap joints made by hand which were messy and badly measured and made my container look messy. The main idea of my container was the slanted boxes, unfortunatley the boxes weren't equally measured and ended up been very messy and destroying the overall effect of the slant.
My LED lights are most likely my favourite part of my container and , at the moment, has been the part ive had the least problems with. My container does actually do its job which it was designed for(drumstick holder) but from the size of the container itself and the amount of drumsticks it can carry it is proven to not to of been very well planned out.

I feel if i do complete my container that it will easily do its job but will not carry a large amount of drumsticks and would be more of an ornament rather than a container. If i put too many drumsticks in my container it may fall over due to the weight been heavily distributed to the top of the container making it top heavy.

If i was able to re-do this project i would first of all make sure that all of my plans are correct and that i am doin it the correct way, as with my slanted box if i had of measured out the angle correctly and seperated it between my slanted box and the box resting on top then it would have worked a lot better.
I would use my time more wisely in lessons as with the 16 hand made lap joints i ruined i could have hand 1 long piece of wood and used the router table to get accurate lap joints and seperate that into the pieces i need. Also due to the useless plans i had drawn i spend a lot of lesson time thinking on how i could make parts look better and what to do next. I still haven't finished my container and due to its complicated nature the finished product will look very basic and useless.
I am disapointed with this project and feel i planned a container to complicated to do by myself.

In the next project i will correct the errors i made in this project and do an interesting yet simple design which i will plan correctly and give myself enough time to finish it in time.

We have just finished on the "container" project yet i am still needing to come in at lunchtime to finish it. I feel i will need no more than 2 lunchtimes to finish. I will be making more blogs for you to look forward to in the future.
